About

Photographer, pilot, runner, and lover of nature, all wrapped up inside the body of an engineer

Lori Foringer is a fine art photographer who explores the intricacies of life, both nature and man. She encourages the viewers to explore themselves, their identities, and their role in the world. Lori encourages the viewers to slow down and observe the little things in life. To capture the little details of life that are often overlooked as we pass thru our lives at a frantic pace. She uses metaphors and motion, as well as light and form to create memories of fleeting things; the leaf floating quietly, the passing fog, the reflections that only exist for a moment. Lori is currently attending the Academy of Art University in pursuit of a Masters of Fine Art.

Lori retired from United States Air Force in 2016 after a 22-year career in program management and flight test engineering. She received a Master’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Air Force Institute of Technology, a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Miami, FL and is a USAF Test Pilot School graduate.

Growing up with National Geographic, photography was a first love of Lori’s. Given a Nikon F and a 50mm lens at the age of fifteen, she took every opportunity she had to create. While life got in the way for a few years, when she picked up her first DLSR, the love was rekindled. Upon retirement from the Air Force, she decided to pursue the passion that she had from her childhood. In addition to her love of photography, Lori is a private pilot, and holds an FAA Part 107 UAS certification.

From the pressing of the shutter to the delivery of prints, Lori delivers perfection. Harkening back to the days from the darkroom, all prints are created individually by Lori. She chooses the paper to marry up with the concept, therefore creating a piece of art to cherish. All prints are limited editions and signed by the artist.
